Aluminum Battery

Rechargeable battery with aluminium as main electrode material.

Aluminium batteries are good candidates for cheap, environmentally harmless, lightweight batteries. Former claims that aluminum batteries with four times the capabilities of the best lithium ion variants by Europositron AB have been resolved as non-relevant.

The major problem of aluminium batteries is the electrode degeneration (e.g. oxidation processes) which affects the cycle stability drastically.
